the turn of the century and is situated in some of the UK's
most scenic countryside. Sensitively renovated with all modern
amenities, it has been designed and furnished to make your
stay as comfortable as possible.
As a measure of our success, The English Tourist council,
who mainly award 3 stars for this type of accommodation, have
rated The Old Post Office 4 stars. To make your welcome especially
warm, personal touches include a welcome tray, fresh flowers
and toiletries.
Please arrive after 3pm. You are
requested to vacate the cottage no later than 10am on the day
of departure. This allows sufficient time to prepare for the
next guests, and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

The Old Post Office is
in Thorpe Bassett, a quiet, rural village nestling at the
foot of the Wolds only 1 mile from the A64.
It’s within easy reach of York, Scarborough and the
North Yorkshire Moors, and local attractions include Castle
Howard, Eden Camp, Flamingoland and the North Yorkshire Moors
Railway (Heartbeat and Harry Potter fame).
Nearby, you can hop on the North Yorkshire
Moors railway and go to Goathland where you can take in the
spectacular views of the North Yorkshire Moors and the attractions
previously mentioned.
